Bleeding Queens - - The Oppressed
Bleeding Queens - - The Oppressed
I always give my support and a part of my courageous soul to someone who's going through what we all know as Domestic Violence. These two words merely don't consist of just beating a woman, raping her, abusing her, threatening her, in the name of marriage, using her as some property, But it's also sound more like shutting a woman's voice, thoughts, her wishes/dreams, closing the doors of freedom for her, not letting her live and finally die in her own darkness. The darkness from where, She could see the light of freedom for herself but couldn't be able to even touch it. 'Enjoying it', that is something out of question!
Why don't people understand that talking about Domestic Violence and doing nothing, is actually making it dominate our own society. I understand that the rules, the boundaries made by our ancestors and written in our historical books, convey only one message "woman is not allowed to do this and that, and her husband is her living God or as in common language, Pati Parmeshwar, no matter what." Really?
Even if that 'Pati parmeshwar' beats his better half to death, on daily basis.
That 'Pati parmeshwar' uses her or rather rapes his wife. That 'Pati parmeshwar' abuses his wife and her family. That 'Pati parmeshwar' threatens her that it's his house, and she's his slave till death and nobody will come for her help, and if she tries to raise voice against the man who gives her clothes food and shelter, he can or has the right to throw her out of the house. And still she's to worship him as her God by doing all the housework, giving him kids whenever he wants, satisfy him as per his will. And she must not ask for anything. Affirmative!!
I've seen ladies who go outside to work, earn in lakhs, and still are suffering from domestic violence and that too, daily. Some of them don't even have the right to spend their own hard-earned money. Trust me, not a single penny! Most of them don't get the support of their own parents. I would rather call them the living proof of the word "Tolerance".
I asked one of them, "Why don't you leave if you can earn on your own? Get out, be free. You can give your child a better future without the help of any man! "
The answer was a bitter truth that made me silent,
"Don't Want To Get Gang-Raped, By Unknowns!"
No doubt, There're woman who lived alone by raising voice against domestic violence, succeeded, gave their children a better future, faced everything with courage. But, those are very few women. A large number is still living inside hell.
That means, a woman, no matter what she does, to prove that she's capable and equal, there's no security for her, neither inside the walls nor outside.
So, for those men who beat, rape and abuse her, after taking the vows of marriage...
She's just a BODY,
A body to be used,
A body to be slaved,
A body without soul!!
