After a September packed with writing, October is buzzing with talks and events. Despite that I will still find time to write. Having put the finishing touches to DI Andy Horton 14 (and dispatched it to my publisher with my fingers crossed that they like it) and having completed the fourth in the Art Marvik marine thriller series, I'm currently working on a new crime novel the first of what I hope might prove to be a series. This one opens in 1950 and is set on the south coast of England, this time on the Isle of Portland in Dorset, an area that I visited in June for some research and instantly fell in love with. There are some great places to put a body there (fictional of course.) It's early stages yet but my research has thrown up some fascinating plot ideas which I am very excited about.
In October I'll be appearing on BBC Radio Solent, giving a talk to readers at Fordingbridge Library in Hampshire and will be sharing the stage at CSI Southampton with fellow crime author Graham Hurley and officers from Hampshire Police. More details below. Hope to see some of you there.
