Fridgyth investigates again!

I didn't plan to be bringing two books out together, but that is the way that things have worked out! QUEEN OF A DISTANT HIVE is a sequel to A SWARMING OF BEES. Many kind readers asked for a second book and I tackled the story cheerfully, but then seemed to get rather bogged down and stuck halfway through. I realised that I had used up all the very best historical information about Hild's monastery in the first book and that this second adventure for the herb-wife had to come from wider research and a good deal of imagination. Inspiration came from the exciting Streethouse excavation just up the coast from Whitby - in the area that I grew up in. The discovery of a royal, female Anglo-Saxon burial helped me to get going again and see a way of developing another investigation for Fridgyth!

Mariah Sounds like another great series! I enjoyed your Forestwife & Child of the May, and Hild by Nicola Griffith about the same abbess. I also have Moonriders, which I need to get to sometime.
