"The Green Phoenix" Made It to Bustle's List

Today was just an ordinary day, until I saw on Twitter Bustle.com's List of "11 Historical Novels by Women To Look Forward To This Fall"!

You guessed it - The Green Phoenix: A Novel of the Woman Who Re-Made Asia, Empress Xiaozhuang is on that List!!

A tantalizing story of one of history's most fascinating women, The Green Phoenix will show readers a world like they've never seen before. - Sadie Trombetta, BUSTLE

Yippee!

Alice Poon Thank you so much, Werner! I'd love to hear your thoughts on the novel :)

message 7: by Werner (new)

Werner I'm looking forward to it, Alice! But given that it's one of 399 books on that shelf, it'll probably be awhile until I get to it. (Sigh!)

Alice Poon Werner, I understand. Hopefully, the uniqueness of my novel in terms of time and place and historical characters will be an impetus for you to pick it up sooner rather than later :)

I'm actually hoping to do just that, Alice --though for me, at this point "sooner rather than later" means "hopefully sometime early in 2019 rather than in a subsequent year." :-) That puts it fairly near the top of the pile, since I generally only read 30-some books a year, and some of those are review books or group reads.

Alice Poon Haha, isn't that a common problem for most readers - too many books, too little time?

That phrase is pretty much my mantra, Alice! :-)
