The Perfect Fall Date, And What You Need To Wear!
Now that it’s officially Fall, are you looking for a Fall date idea to try? Or maybe you’re totally single and just looking for a fun idea for a girl’s trip, a birthday, or just an “i-need-to-treat-myself-because-im-awesome” date! Here’s a fun date Idea that I’d highly recommend for Fall, especially if you live somewhere where Fall leaves bloom (aka not Southern California, but you know, I made do).
In life, I try to do as many “bucket list” things as I can. Everything from the big things, like swimming with sharks, to the small things; sleeping under the stars, I try to live each day completing at least one. Hot air balloons have always been one of the big things for me. It’s something that living In Southern California doesn’t exactly make available. You usually have to fly or drive reeeeally far to find a space open for hot air balloon flying! So for my birthday, I decided to drive up to Napa valley which is about six hours from my house. It’s this super beautiful spot in the middle of California where all the good wine is made, so theres tons of gorgeous vineyards to explore.
Adam planned the majority of my birthday trip, since I planned his, and one of the things he surprised me with was a hot air balloon trip. It was absolutely amazing, and a little bit scary. The funny thing is for the past two years, I’ve fallen in love with taking open door helicopter trips, where you’re zipping literally 150 miles per hour, weaving between major skyscrapers, and yet I never got queasy until I found myself in a hot air balloon basket, going at a brisk three miles per hour. No joke, my stomach was actually turning. Here I am, just literally hovering in the sky by a damn balloon. It’s actually magic. Once we touched down to land again, we got to play around in the field while we watched our massive balloon deflate right behind us. It made the coolest backdrops for photos, and you can clearly see how huge the balloon really was. It’s a much different perspective when it’s filled with air, holding you up in the sky, to when it’s crashing down on the ground as air leaves it. Adam and I took a few quick photos In the field and then moved on to a nearby restaurant, where we finished with a morning mimosa and hopped in our car to journey some 300 miles all the way home.
Hot air balloons usually start early in the morning. Ours started at around 5 am! You might obviously feel the need to bundle up hardcore in the morning, but trust me, it gets hot in the balloon. The hot air balloon company told me that it get’s usually around 90 degrees in the air! Luckily, I wore the perfect cosy dress from It’s All Wild to keep me warm in the early morning, but still the right temperature when we got up in that hot balloon. I paired my little white dress with some Soludos mule slides because they’re the easiest shoes to pair with anything and you always look cute in them. Everything I wore is linked below!
