SUV Shopping in Alaska

Traffic Jam in Alaska. No, I wasn't involved.
In case you can't tell, that's a herd of Muskox meeting a dogsled team.
.
Shh, don't tell Detroit, but we're shopping for a new vehicle.  We've been without one that will seat our entire family since our last baby was born a couple of years ago.  Well, you know, we're the financially responsible sort, so we made do.  Now, finally, we can afford a new vehicle, mostly due to my husband being promoted to captain and partly due to the State of Alaska's PFD.   Governor Parnell announced this year's PFD  just yesterday.  Don't know what the PFD is?  Google 'Alaska PFD' and you will.  It's just one of the many great reasons we live here.
.
Anyway, this commercial from Toyota just about snagged us-
The Swagger Wagon
But, like I said, we live in Alaska and, besides, our family's much bigger.  We need a vehicle that will go through snow six months of the year, carry our children and their junk and all their friends and all their friends' junk.  Hey, big state, big families.  We got married in a Toyota...

...so we do have a soft spot for it.  Maybe a Sequoia?

On the other hand, a lady in a GMC Yukon just walked away from a wreck.  Safety on the road is kind of a big deal up here.  You slam into a moose in a puddlehopper-car, you're dead and the moose is slightly annoyed.  Hmmmm, we shall explore our options.
