I agree! When it comes to crafting such elegant nonfiction that is deeply informative and unforgettable, Coates and Nathan MCall deliver such fiery and searing compositions. They provoke considerable thought and you're left with many valuable gems to savor for a long time!
I am reasonably confident that President Obama beats Trump in the 2016 election, with the exact same electorate, and by a pretty comfortable margin in both the popular and electoral vote.If you disagree with that opinion, then we are at an impasse.
But I think it's a pretty solid opinion, and Obama has said the same thing himself.
Such an opinion provides a more solid basis for analyzing last year's election, and how to formulate strategies for the future.
Mr. Coate's doesn't seem to understand that Trump was the benefactor of a non-loss, not a win. His nomination was a rejection of the Republican Party by Republican Party voters. And his non-loss in the general was a rejection of the Democratic Party.
There is a segment of the population that actually voted for him. But not near enough to give him his non-loss. Many people just didn't know what else to do.
I suggest that Mr. Coates look into the matter further before painting electoral results he doesn't like with a broad brush.
