HUNTING THE TIME
ON THE THRESHOLD OF THE 50TH BIRTHDAY
Well, I suppose this moment had to come sooner or later. Of course, I’d have preferred it later but one can’t control everything. And, definitely, one can’t control time. Yet, how great would it be! Imagine, jumping around like bugs on acid… Yep, not too fun.
I’ll turn 50 this month. An optimist would think I have half of my life before me, while a pessimist would say Where has half of my life gone? I’m in between and can’t decide if it is a blessing or a curse. There must be a curse hidden somewhere there, though, because lately I’ve been questioning my achievements and purpose in life. Reflecting too much on such serious things brings migraines and the blues and I am not too fond of either.
For a moment there, I was inclined to make a list. One column with achievements, the other with regrets. Well, it was just a fleeting moment, though. Thank God, it passed!
I’ve never made lists and I don’t think turning 50 should also bring drastic behavioral changes. It’s enough having flashes and other “delightful perks” of the above-mentioned age.
I summed everything in my mind fast and, happy because the regrets list was very short – just one or two, I tucked everything in a drawer in my brain and decided never to look inside again. I cherish my sanity and peace of mind too much to linger over such things. I’m shallow, I know, but at least I admit it.
That’s why I decided to look ahead.

She looks for peace of mind. He looks for revenge. They both get what they want but with a twist.
Diane's an artist and a city girl. She inherits her aunt's ranch house and land and moves there in a journey to rediscover herself. But first, she discovers her inheritance comes with strings attached and people are willing to kill over it.
Adam, former soldier and mercenary, wants to avenge his brother's death. Diane is his only means to achieve his purpose. Or that's what he thinks. When things get bad - and they do, Adam finds out that some people just sneak into one's soul and haunt them for eternity.
Eyes in the Dark is the stand-alone second book in the Perfect Halves Series. Another tough guy hits the ground. If you like suspense and romance, then this is the book for you. Strong characters and suspense are waiting to fill in your afternoons.

Well, that's enough for a 50th birthday. As i always say, chin up, tomorrow's always brighter.
