Without pause
to consider the
fiction of our reality.
Shrouded in laughter, buoyed
by tears.

This is how we
walk the streets and
alleys that spiderweb
my life to yours and
ours to every pinprick
of light
Never considering
how each footstep
comes burdened
with the emotional
trauma
of every twist and turn;
all the sweet
all the bitter
falls like
breadcrumbs
which could show us
where and why if only
we thought
to look
