The 1755 Lisbon earthquake

Snippets 133.  According to the Edinburgh Philosophical Journal (Volume 2), an earthquake struck Lisbon on 2nd February 1816. The article goes on to list various ships in the region that experienced the shockwave, but other than that details are hard to come by.
