Honestly, I’m terrified of open water*
*I was going to title this post “My new stories are underwater”, but in light of the devastation in Texas…yeah, not going there. It wasn’t like the various editors planned on releasing work that I happened to be in, that happened to involve water, around Mother Nature, but…yeah.

My first paid writing assignment was as columnist for THE CLARION CALL, Clarion University's student newspaper (I was officially the "Circulation Manager", but the job was so mind-numbingly simple it took five minutes and the outgoing Editorial Board, upon giving me the job, pointed out that they just wanted to give me something that would put me in the bullpen). Since then, I've dabbled with the idea of nonfiction writing again--scratch a writer, get someone who can't shut their goddamned mouth--but I'm a lazy researcher and while I was an okay journalist, I enjoyed just riffing on things. So there you go.
