Went back to Chumleys after it had been closed for over 10 years. It’s my most favorite bar in all of NYC. It’s where the term “to 86” something was coined (note the 86 on the door) It was an old speakeasy where famous authors such as Faulkner, Steinbeck, and EE Cummings used to hang out (their torn off book covers hang on the walls) (at Chumley’s)
