on the subject of porn acting...
on the subject of porn acting to normalize violence against women as a neutral sexual activity, some things that regularly happen to me, as a stripper, without my consent or foreknowledge are:
1. men spanking me, hard. this happens at least once EVERY shift, typically several times per shift. this also happens often enough with men who haven’t even bought a dance from me. random men literally hit me for no other reason than that they can
2. pulling my hair by running their fingers through it and grabbing near the scalp. this happens every few weeks
3. placing their hands on my throat and putting me into a chokehold. i once had a customer choke me so hard that it hurt to swallow for the next week. this happens roughly once a month
the reason i write this is because i am tired of seeing people say that the violence in porn is limited to porn. these are acts which have no relevance or purpose within a strip club, but they ARE the bread and butter of gonzo porn.
these actions are inherently violent and have nothing to do with sex or sexuality. they are intended to be a show of forceful domination. men get these very specific ideas from watching violent porn and then try to reenact it with me without even asking me.
there is no magical fence that keeps elements of one section of industrial sexuality from flowing into another section, neither is there one to keep it from flooding into noncommercial sexual relations.
and i’m just one woman among many with the bruises to prove it.
And they’re SO shocked when you don’t react well. I will slap someone upside the head when they slap my ass and every single time, they look shocked, hurt, unable to comprehend that I wouldn’t react well despite the warning announced on my arrival that absolutely no touching will be tolerated.
Ugh, I just had a conversation the other day with a man who claimed that strippers like being touched because they get better tips.
Men are always willing to tell women what they supposedly like in order to justify doing this kind of shit.
