I spend so much of my time writing for the screen I've accumulated so many ideas - scenes and short screenplays - in a "miscellaneous file" on my hard drive; more than I've ever amassed when writing prose. While I wish I could produce everything I write, hire a crew and make another short film, it's not always feasible. I recently went through my hard drive, and rediscovered some gems. I took some time to polish up five scenes and short screenplays, which became Short Attention Span! It's a collection which showcases several genres and styles. None of the included scripts are longer than 20 pages. It's a light read; easily finished in one sitting, or perfect for a little here and there perusing. I enjoy reading screenplays for their oddly specific format. I always feel inspired after reading a great screenplay. Is it arrogant to hope some filmmaker is inspired by reading Short Attention Span?
