Lisa Dave's comment haha! I wanna say GRRM please get a grip on GOT show producers/writers and tell them not to F this up in the last hurdle please cos it seems too hurried. Try not to pi$$ your fan base off first rule of thumb!

I think GRRM handed the reins off to Benioff and Weiss with his blessings. So the ending will be good enough for GRRM.

I really wish he wouldn't have given them complete control. It's showing now that it's 'post books' that there's a weakness in timeframe and character dialogue and other inconsistencies with white walkers I.e. speed of their movement (trying to kill Bran they were climbing up walls/ ceilings but now a chunk of rock they can't climb up the same way 'swarmlike' to attack the 7 beyond the wall group, so are theyre slowing down to suit the story now or do whitewalkers have a shelf life we're not aware of!? - makes me think the writers made them too ridiculously fast to start with) I'm starting to wish they'd just made the series once the books were finished now. Missing the rich character arcs now it's all a bit rushed.

Plus Alan Taylor, director of the latest eposode talking to Variety "The director, who helmed several episodes in seasons one and two, says “it’s cool that the show is so important to so many people that it’s being scrutinized so thoroughly,” as if he weren’t at all concerned with how much of our Sunday nights and Monday mornings we’re spending on models for the raven’s flight to Dragonstone and Dany’s subsequent flight to Jon’s exact location. He continued: “If the show was struggling, I’d be worried about those concerns, but the show seems to be doing pretty well so it’s OK to have people with those concerns.”

That last sentence shows the contempt for audience lately. As long as he gets paid hey!

I agree. The timeline and inconsistencies are growing because gee we "had" to cut down the last 2 seasons to 13 episodes total. So now a lot more things aren't making sense. Plus having different directors for different episodes also creates and exposes more inconsistencies. But who's going to stop watching at this point? Grr.

Ahmet George writes at a normal pace, I think. He is 68 years old, it's normal for him to be at this pace.

It has passed 6 years since book 5 was released and it looks like it may well be 7 years before we see book 6. If we guess this book is a good 1200 pages then he is achieving less than half a page per day.
My worry is that his motivation has gone. If he is sick of writing then we may never see book 7.

I think Winds of Winter is done and they're purposely waiting for the show to wrap up next year to keep the hype going.
