And yet, we followed the life
for many years
and our bellies were left empty
and our minds wouldn’t let us find joy,
but we were a solar day
where many came
to find warmth and peace
and we were people
who cared more about another’s
internal health
and path to understanding themselves
than how many dollars
we could accumulate in trade.

A balance of belief and wealth
did not exist for us.
We did not find one that worked.
We only had one
or we had the other.
