Totalitarians never give up trying to rewrite history to their liking, but that stubborn bastard history always outlives them.
Adams is brilliant. I am so glad I am not a blind follower of either party so I can read this stuff objectively.
MTK-unfortunately, most people choose the enclosed world of "either/or" over the open spaces of "neither/nor."
Yes and I am afraid this is human nature to feel compelled to choose a "team" and irrationally defend it.
David, I've been wondering: which one of these will endure the most?? I mean, will live longer?Do you have any preference?
My preference would be Washington and Jefferson, both of whom owned slaves, which means that the intolerantly correct totalitarians will try to rewrite history in their own image and choose the two leftovers.BTW, a lot of people only think of Washington in military terms, but during the Constitutional Convention debates, he envisioned a democracy WITHOUT political parties! Imagine that! What a utopian intellectual!!!
Congrats! You've just made my [vacation] days!Shame on the "leftovers".
PS. True, I confirmed in Google: "The administration of George Washington and the first few sessions of the US Congress were nonpartisan.". But in our days, I believe it's time to end bipartisanship in the USA; therefore admit other parties, just like in Europe's parliaments.
America has had nothing but leftovers in the White House since Lyndon Johnson arrived to give us the Vietnam War as we know it.
David, the "Mass Hysteria Bubble" has reached the UK; poor Nelson; who's next??

Hope the Liberty statue to stand. Just for the sake of History.
