Interview with character Adoria, on the day of Seeker's release!

Today, Su Halfwerk is celebrating the release of her novel, Seeker. I've invited her character, Adoria, over for an interview!

Interviewing Adoria Hall of Seeker

We have a very special guest today. Adoria, the heroine in Seeker, published with Exstasy Books (http://www.extasybooks.com/seeker/)

Book 1 of the paranormal romance series Unsettled by Su Halfwerk-has graciously agreed to sit for an interview with me. You will have

a glimpse of Adoria's personality and will get to know a bit about Seeker.

The interview takes place right before the start of a movie premiere she's attending with Andrew Taylor.

Adoria enters the room, dressed in her uniform of silver pants and waistcoat that couldn't hide the curves in her figure. Her black hair was

gathered in a ponytail that bounced with every step she took. I gesture for her to take a seat, she settles down, arms on the armrest, hands entwined in her lap.

Fiona: Adoria, thank you for being here.

Adoria*smiles*: Thanks for having me, even though I'm not sure what you expect me to say.

Fiona: Anything that comes to your mind. Just answer my questions truthfully.

Adoria *frowns*: What if I don't feel comfortable answering the question?

Fiona*laughs*: Then don't answer it. I'm well aware that you can kick bum. Try to relax and enjoy the interview.

Adoria *looks wary*: Oh, okay.

Fiona: Please tell us about yourself. Where do you live and how do you relate to the whole setting of Seeker.

Adoria: I live in Santa Monicawith my sister, Carla, and her daughter, Pru. I live in my own apartment of the same building. I guess I'm here because I work for Andrew Taylor. Many people are interested in his life because he's a famous movie star.

I ignore that jab.

Fiona: I understand you have Latin blood in you.

Adoria: Yes, my mother wasLatina.

Fiona: You've mentioned that you work for Andrew Taylor. What do you do?

Adoria: I'm part of his team of personal bodyguards.

Fiona; A big man like him counts on you to guard him?

Adoria *now looks disgruntled*: Size isn't everything. I have mastered the art of Hapkido and can defend myself, as well as others, as and when the need arises. Besides, Andrew needed to have a female personal bodyguard for hairy situations.

Fiona: Like what?

Adoria: There's a lawsuit, possibly two, involved. I'm sorry, but I can't disclose more.

Fiona: Fair enough. Are you an introvert or extrovert? What stresses you and what makes you relax?

Adoria: I think I have both in me. There are times when I'm very open, but then something would happen and I would shut down. I don't like injustice, and not being fair stresses me. I relax with my family at home in private. *giggles* Does that make me an introvert?

Fiona: Not really. We all like to relax in private. Adoria, do you have a secret from your past that you don't/won't tell anyone?

Adoria *frowns*: I don't mean to be rude, but if I have a secret, there's no way in hell I'll be sharing it here. Sorry. I can't answer that.

Fiona: You just did :-)

If you were granted three wishes, what would you ask for?

Adoria: A secure future for my family, the wellbeing of Andrew, and world peace.

Fiona: Funny you mentioned Andrew Taylor, my next question is about him. How did you end up in his employment?

Adoria; He interviewed me. The first time didn't go so well, the second was brief and much better.

Fiona: What happened during the first time?

Adoria: A huge misunderstanding. And no, I can't discuss it.

Fiona: Okay. So, how would you describe your boss?

Adoria: Andrew is a fair man, very understanding and supportive of his staff. I couldn't have asked for a better boss.

*she glances outside* Are we done yet? I don't think he pays me to sit for interviews.

Fiona: Don't worry about him. He's next room attending to another interview. If you lean back a little, you might be able to see him.

She does that and a warm and tentative smile stretches her lips. She raises her hand in a small wave

Adoria: I wouldn't have agreed to this interview if it weren't for his agent's insistence. I'm here to protect him, not to sit for interviews.

Fiona: I know, and I really appreciate the time you're giving us. So, there are rumors that you two might be romantically involved. Is

there any truth to that claim?

Adoria *mutters a curse*: None what so ever. I don't get why people assume that about us. Everyone is asking the same question.

Fiona: Perhaps because the two of you give this vibe that links you to each other.

Adoria *shakes her head*: We are linked, but not that way.

Fiona: Don't' you wish it were more.

Adoria: No comment.

Fiona *raises both hands*: I know of your temper, so please calm down. No one is after you.

Adoria: If there were, then I can take care of them.

Fiona: I'm sure you can. Now, back to our questions, how do you fall in love? At first sight? Over a long period?

Adoria: I think when it happens it will be the head over heel type. I haven't been in love before.

Sure, I dated, but none of them gave me a warm feeling in my heart. Do you know what I mean?

Fiona: I think I know exactly what you mean. How do you decide if you can trust someone?

Adoria: Intuition, as simple as that. As you said earlier, we all give vibes, and I'm good at picking those. Still, I

don't go by first impression, I let experience over a period of time guide my trust.

Fiona: When you met Andrew the first time, what was the first thing you noticed about him?

Adoria; His green eyes. *clears throat* I mean, the eyes are the windows to the soul. Right?

Fiona: And what did his eyes tell you the first time you met?

Adoria: That I wasn't good enough. *Opens eyes wide* Can you cross that out?

Fiona: No can do. Was that during the first interview?

Adoria *presses her lips together*:

No comment.

Fiona: Describe Andrew to me. Appearance and personality.

Adoria; Andrew is blond with these nice natural highlights to his hair. He has the most expressive emerald eyes I ever saw. He's tall with lean muscles all around, even though he assumes a bit a too relaxed stance most of the time that shows him weaker than he is. As I

said before, he's fair in his dealings with his staff, even the undeserving ones. Oh, and he is the sweetest father, ever. I had such a wrong impression about him before I joined his team.

Fiona: What are your strengths?

Adoria: My ability to think clearly when in danger and loyalty to others.

Fiona: What are your weaknesses?

Adoria: People tell me it's my fiery nature. When my blood boils, I don't think of the consequences.

Fiona: What are you most proud of about your life?

Adoria: My life hasn't been an easy one. I had to struggle to keep our family together, to make sure there is food on our table. We aren't rich, and my sister's past, along with mine, are filled with dark moments we prefer not to remember. I'm proud that we're still here, surviving.

Fiona: What's the worst thing you've ever done? Why?

Adoria *getting fidgety*: Not

answering that one.

Fiona: Describe your ideal mate.

Adoria: He must be someone I can rely on, someone who will make my heart beat in unnatural ways. He should be someone who will understand that sometimes being a personal bodyguard to a celebrity is not always about traveling and living the good life. Sometimes I might be in danger because of the repeated attacks on Andrew's life. Sometimes I wonder if he doesn't have a secret life of his own. *clears throat* Anyway, my ideal mate should understand that about me or there's no "us."

Fiona: So you put Andrew before your ideal mate.

Adoria *grits her teeth*: Hold on a

sec. I never said that. *huffs* Never mind. No comment.

Fiona: What are you most afraid of?

Adoria: Losing my loved ones.

Fiona: How do you feel about your life right now? What, if anything, would you like to change?

Adoria: It's good the way it is. Listen, the movie premiere will start shortly. I must return to Andrew's side.

Hey, what's the meaning of that look? What are you writing down?

Fiona *smiles*: If you could be an animal, what would it be?

Adoria *rises to her feet*: One that

shreds people who write lies.

Unfortunately, Adoria stormed out of the room at that stage, and the interview was over, on her terms. Nevertheless, I think we got

to know more about this black haired beauty.

About Seeker:
