Maggie [[ sigh ]] Sam Shepard sure was a loss, not least because he was so accomplished. AND I found out just HOW accomplished after his death. I like this quote better than Churchill's: 'On stage, you're not limited at all because you're free in language: language is the source of the imagination. You can travel farther in language than you can in any film.' -Sam Shepard

C.C. Yager Nice. I discovered Shepard through his acting, and I always knew that if he was doing a character, it'd be interesting. I haven't read much of his writing, but what I have read has impressed me. What was stuck in my head last week was a comment he made about doing movies -- he said he could do 16 plays with every movie he did. So he was focused on what was important to him, something I could learn. Absolutely.
