Changing eras

Hi Everyone,
Many thanks to all those of you who kindly sent in the lovely reviews of TROUBADOUR. I am so delighted you enjoyed the story. It's the first one I've done with completely fictional main characters for quite a while and I had no idea how it would be received. I originally wrote it with a different character as the hero and it didn't work so I rewrote the whole story.
It's a big jump from the year of 1209 to Elizabethan England but I'm having fun working on a novel where there are more written sources available. It's great to have a broader vocabulary available. The correspondence of the time is very wordy but with so many phrases that we still use.
When I was a kid I was fascinated by the women's clothes of that era but I've changed my mind on that. Late Elizabethan women's wear was pretty complex and uncomfortable unless you were a lowly servant. And talking of servants, it must have been hell starching the ruffs and high standing collars. Anyway, back to the writing. xxx Isolde
