My July Adventures with Jane Austen@200, by the Numbers

Picture I'm indulging in some intensely grateful if jet-lagged reflections on an amazing month of July. I got to honor Jane Austen@200 with 17,000 miles of travel, 4 lectures, 2 CNN appearances, 3 radio interviews, 1 video interview, 7 print essays, more than a few (mostly positive!) reviews of my new book, and countless kangaroos. All of the glorious gory details are on my book's webpage: http://www.makingjaneausten.com/janeausten200-tv-radio-print.html

Teresa What a terrific way to celebrate Jane. We who don't have the opportunity to do as you did celebrated her in our own small way. Every little helps. I'm so glad you enjoyed it all.

Devoney Looser Thanks, Teresa! It was really a privilege. Who would have thought a woman could make a career out of studying Jane Austen? I hope you found a good way to celebrate her life and fiction, too.

Teresa I love her Devoney. My eldest daughter treated me to a weekend in Bath last year for the September festival. I was in Heaven. Then she surprised me with a visit to her grave on the way back to the airport. I didn't get long there but long enough to stand at her grave in awe. Isn't it amazing how a lady writer from so long ago can enthrall us so much!!!
