Book Cover Design from Raw Elements to Polished

Thought I would show a little behind the scenes…

where I create a new book cover, for the book I’m currently writing.

Here is the final design for ‘Black Bird Mountain’, polished and with fonts.

Below are the broken down steps of arranging the different elements.

I played with multiple arrangements, but steps below are only for the finalized composition.

This post doesn’t show the steps from the finished raw to the polished product, where I manipulate color, add blur and use tones to unify the elements into a cohesive whole.

I’ll be making a blog that’ll show the visual steps in that process.
