Here it is! Stars and Wonder!
Hey, Conspirators,
Voila! Here it is! Stars and Wonder, the debut album by Lone Star Rambler. :)
Yes, this little blog has become the band name for AJ Stover and me.
Before we start the start, listen to it a few times with the window rolled down or AC cranked up, depending where you live.
Each song tells a story, but there is also a story behind each song. So, for the next week, we - musician AJ Stover and I - will be doing writeups for the songs. Here's the story behind the album:
This debut album is the waterborn child of writer Adam Holt and musician Seven River Day (AJ Stover). It began on a surf trip to Costa Rica, when Adam began the lyrics to "Let the Night Be." He finished the lyrics in Texas, sent them to AJ, and to his surprise, a few weeks later, AJ sent him back a completed song.
At that point, they made a pact to meet up every season - winter, spring, summer, or fall - and work on more music in AJ's home in Santa Monica. Stars and Wonder is the product of those sessions, and also of mornings in the Pacific waters, afternoons jotting lyrics in coffee shops or traffic jams, nights out in Tamarindo, and grateful hearts.
Special thanks to producer Andrew Jed for his work on lead guitar, and beats. To J.L. Diaz-Granados for additional guitar on "Star Above Our Heads." And to Damon, organizer of The Annual.
Tomorrow we will start the Stars and Wonder song countdown beginning with #1, "Let the Night Be."
Love and rocket,
Adam
