The Continuing Adventures of Agent Eng
If you're interested in seeing more of me in books, but, like, not stuff I've written, more of ACTUALLY SEEING ME, I feel the need to recommend Thunderbolts Vol. 2: No Going Back by Jim Zub, Sean Izaakse, and Jon Malin, which came out this month. Because it's in these pages that Agent Eng, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. makes his first and (for now) final appearances in the Marvel Universe. You might think I'm joking. I am not joking.

SEE Agent Eng as he drinks coffee and engages Director Maria Hill in conversation in the S.H.I.E.L.D. break room!

THRILL to Agent Eng getting ready to take out intruders in the S.H.I.E.L.D. base only to get thrown aside as the door blows up.

Is that the end of Agent Eng? WHO CAN SAY?!
(Seriously, tho, it's pretty hilarious that I'm a named character in the Marvel Universe. It's a steady source of amusement and weird pride for me.)

Research is getting kicked up into high gear as I prepare to write my next novel. I've worked out a schedule that will allow me to get the next book out in a year (maybe a little less if I play my cards right *fingers crossed*) and my schedule starts at the beginning of August. August and September are me holing up and writing the first draft, and I'm shooting for a tentative publication date of July 2018. That only leaves two weeks to get everything in order before I start, though, and that's not much time! Eep!

A few days ago, my coworker and I were discussing Game of Thrones and about how (after I'd first discovered it) I'd asked a friend what else he could recommend that was like that and he said, "Nothing. There's nothing else like that," and that made me sad.
But then--years later--my coworker said, "But wait--there is!" And he proceeded to tell me about Maurice Druon's seven book series The Accursed Kings, which covers some dense historical ground in covering the real-life Machiavellian goings-on in France and Europe in the period leading up to the Hundred Years War.
I'm only a few chapters into the first book right now, but I'm into it. This is some good escapism.

Sheer Mag's new album Need To Feel Your Love just dropped and if you need to listen to an amazing collision between southern rock and female-fronted punk, you've got your musical needs taken care of for the summer. And if you DON'T need to listen to some kickass southern punk... well, you're wrong! That's all there is to it.
Okay, that's it from me! Back to the research mines! I've got a book to write for y'all!
