Darkness and Strength

Strange winds blow in a magical world,

Where night-birds lurk with their wings unfurled,

Typhons stalk prey by the light of the moon,

And odd creatures dance to a reckless tune.  

But as I walk through the shadow of night,

I know that there, too, are creatures of light:

The unicorn with his bright-blazing horn;

The loch monster who will gently warn;

And beings that glow, who watch from above;

A Nemor whose gift is not fire, but love…

As light crests the valley, I know the truth:

My strengths are magic; honesty; youth.

I can sing to shake the very sky,

And my voice soars strong, and ever so high!

So, darkness beware, I’m coming for you,

And piercing your masks, I’ll show you true.

You threaten the land; you don’t scare me –

The fearful are blind, but truth lets me see.

No matter what kind of dark webs you spin,

Light and love will always win.
