As promised, lines where I removed “little”:
Lu snatched the bag from Cansu. After she tugged it over her own head, blocking out what little depressing daylight there had been, she held out an arm. —> She tugged it over her own head, blocking out what depressing daylight there had been, and held out an arm.
Worse—it worked. Just a little. Lu’s body washed with heat and her mind went blank, but Vex only smiled wider. —> Warmth rushed over Lu’s body and her mind went blank, but Vex smiled wider.
…he held it open to let in a little light from the various torches spaced outside —> …he held it open to let in light from the torches outside.
