The Giveaway for
The Outlaws of Kratzenfels ended yesterday and the books are in the post. A very pleasing 1246 people signed up, with 432 putting it on their 'to read' list. Spookily, this is 34% - the figures 'to read' versus sign-ups for my previous Giveaways were 35% for
Thalassa: The World Beneath the Waves and 33% for
Race the Red Horizon: the Flight of the Pteronaut. Humans, eh? What are they like? Anyway, I hope some of these 'to readers' might at some point turn into actual readers; that would be grand.
So what next?
I'm working on second editions of
Race the Red Horizon: the Flight of the Pteronaut (a simple cover revamp and one correction of a random genitive - terrible thing, that) and
Thalassa: The World Beneath the Waves (a cover revamp and a rather more extensive nip and tuck of the first few chapters - I shall say more about this soon).
And then there is the Thalassa sequel,
Thalassa - Aqua Incognita, which does not so much pick up the pieces from the first book as smash them into smithereens with a cricket bat* and chuck them out of the window/vent them out of the nearest out-lock. Aqua Incognita is about 70% written as a first draft. I'm hoping for an Autumn release.
A busy summer lies ahead. Time to get cracking!
*Other kinds of bat are available, but refrain from trying this with a pipistrelle or a fruit bat - they do not take kindly.
