Cole wasn’t messing around when she decided on Sweet with Heat as the series’ name. It not only describes the first book perfectly, it literally fills your hours reading it with pure sweetness and romantic notions, and ends every chapter with a blushing moment and yet another reason to fall in love with Kurt and Leanna. Kurt is the total boring guy with more to him than meets the eye, and Leanna’s the girl you can’t help but adore and love with the way she chooses to live her life. I loved them both immediately, and with the great writing style, it wasn’t hard to get into their POVs.
I enjoyed the simple plot, the smirk-worthy flirting and get-togethers, and the complicated problems of the heart in the end. I really appreciated that it was all love and heart without any harsh drama. Normally, as an emotional masochist, I devour heartaches like that like it’s chocolate, but in this case, I was more than satisfied with the Hallmark summer read. There are no words to describe how reading this left me feeling so good in the end. The writing, the flow, the characters. All of it. They were all beyond the expectation I had and I recommend the shit out of this. I can’t imagine any other books getting me this light and fluffy.
