Synopsis (via Goodreads):
My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.

Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.

My Thoughts:

This book was everything! I read it in less than 24 hours, and it was really good. The plot was very unique and the love story was just so sweet and exciting. I can’t wait to see the movie adaptation!

First, Olly and Maddy are SUPER cute together! Just everything about the two of them made me smile. It was kind of sweet to read the parts where she felt awkward and didn’t know what to say to him because I think that’s something all teenagers feel around the person they like early on. For Maddy, this is the first boy — and one of the first people in general!– she has ever really interacted with, so I really appreciated the “realness” of their relationship and getting to know each other. It was sweet.
