Are we only allowed 1 true soul-mate in a lifetime, or do we get multiples?

How many are lucky enough to first FIND their soul-mate,and then stand the test of time and REMAIN with that person for a lifetime? That is the question I am pondering over lately. Are we allowed more than one or is it a one shot deal?
