Poem: Still I Walk

Poetry by Wael AbdelgawadStuck in place
still I walk

World says no
I say yes

Too much suffering
Still I hope

Too much loss
Still I love

Fog of silence in the air
I whisper, “I care.”

Lies rule the world
I watch the thread of truth unfurl

You push me away
I bow at the waist

Been lost for years
I peer ahead

Bruised and sore
I reach for the open door.
