When the Days Last for Years

It's been a good week.

In honor of Lincolnite Jack Sock, a home game tomorrow, and a week of work, this is one of my favorite sculptures, Torn Notebook.

I worked on Luck for Hire every day this week which is, sadly, a more days worked in row than has happened in recent memory. Submitted Model Species and "Opportunity" to various agents/markets. One rejection this week on the former and also a rejection on a different short work. 'Tis the life.

I have watched much tennis. I am tickled that two Nebraska boys played each other this evening on the big New York stage. It's been a more entertaining match than the score suggests. Conversely, I was a little heart-broken at Venus Williams announcement. While I'm not a great fan of the Williams sisters, auto-immune diseases are rough. I'm a weenie came-to-it-late half-assed hobbyist athlete (hobbyist and athlete both are too strong of words) and it has been tough for me to compromise over what I want to do and what I can do. I can't imagine being a world-class athlete and having to deal with that.

I ran for twenty minutes today, covering 1.8 treadmill miles. My knees didn't appreciate it.

The days have been long and hot. I've been staying up until 3am and getting up at 8:30 or 9. I've been playing some EQ2 and crocheting as well. Sometimes, it's hard to remember what I did on what day. Each day seems long and full. I wish this for the entirety of September.
