“Was visiting the Bay Area this week in 1981 and was lucky to catch two JGB shows, one at the Keystone Berkeley and this one in Fairfax. This gig was very special, as Phil Lesh played bass the whole show—one of just three times that happened, all in the summer of ’81. The show was billed as Jerry Garcia’s “Birthday Benefit” for the Fairfax school district, and featured lots of balloons and cake served to everyone.” #JerryGarcia #PhilLesh #JerryGarciaBand
