How to talk to your Adoptive Parents? Need comments and ideas

I often wonder what our parents knew - the ones who adopted us... did they know about the Indian Adoption Projects? Did they know anything about birth psychology or adoptee trauma and stress?Case in point: http://writingmywrongs.com/ On this blog, they discuss Steve Jobs who is an adoptee whose parents were married after he was relinquished and given up. Apparently Steve has not met with his birth father, not yet. This blog "Writing my Wrongs" is fantastic and looks at our adoptive parents in a realistic light - can we talk to them or change their minds about the benefits or lack of benefits of being adopted?I am asking readers to post a comment on this blog if you have ever discussed the history of the Indian Adoption Projects with your adoptive family and parents? If so, what was their reaction? And if you have not told them, please share why... Is it difficult to discuss adoption with them in general?

I am offering my e-book ONE SMALL SACRIFICE: Lost Children of the Indian Adoption Projects FREE to anyone who requests it - you can share this history with YOUR adoptive parents, if they do not know but want to understand.

Currently I am working on a series of articles about opening your adoption and hope to expand on the topic of "How to talk to your adoptive parents..."

Please email me or comment here. Your thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated.... TraceEMAIL: tracedemeyer@yahoo.com
