A new type of power ring has been created by a rogue Guardian of the Galaxy. He calls it a Phantom Ring. Anyone at all who possesses it can use it to become a powerful hero…or villain, or perhaps something in between. It has been given to Frank Laminski, a man who always wanted to be a Green Lantern, and now he is. His first mission involves saving a boy and his dog from a tornado. What happens afterward reveals much about Frank’s character. Meanwhile the two actual Earth Green Lanterns, Simon and Jessica, are trying to put a lid on this, but not having much success, especially when TV reporters get involved. Fine story by Sam Humphries, equally fine art by Robson Rocha, Jay Leister and Cam Smith.
