
Took a break from making macarons to bake something that wouldn’t make me talk aggressively at my oven - meringues! The far less temperamental cousin of macarons! Almond Chocolate chewy gooey goodness.
2 egg whites (room temp)
1/8 tsp cream of tartar
1/3 c sugar
1 tbl cocoa
¼ tsp almond extract
½ c chocolate chunks
Whip egg whites til foamy. Add cream of tartar. Whip til soft peaks. Slowly add sugar. Whip til stiff peaks. Add cocoa and almond. Drop by spoonful onto parchment lined baking sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 10 minutes, rotate, 10 more minutes, turn off oven and let sit in slowly cooling oven for an hour. Finish by EATING ALL OF THEM BECAUSE THEY’RE EGG WHITES SO THEY’RE HEALTHY BECAUSE YOU NEED YOUR PROTEIN YOU GROWING PERSON YOU. #baking #meringues #chocolate
