When I Review Your Book…

I post it on my Blog; first, my Blog is connected to several different sites.Immediately, I post the review on Amazon, and Goodreads. Later, I post a link on 3-5 Facebook Pages, Twitter, and Plugalink. Ultimately, in addition, your review is seen on or through, the following: Several Google Feeds, LinkedIn, Favit, SocialWhale, Stumble, Reddit, Delicious, Digg, Shelfari, BookTown, BookSpy, Network Your Blog, Networked Blogs, Bloggin For Books, and several others. SammyWrites the Blog is now a noted review site on several lists.
If by chance, I have reviewed your book and it does not show up in one of these places let me know. Also, if you don't like anything, let me know.
Again, I stress, these are linked in many cases to my Blog and/or Twitter Account. Generally, I promote to my Blog. Is this a selfish act? Yes, and No.I am learning to promote. I also am very cognitive about spam.
Each review I do has a link to Amazon to provide the reader the opportunity to purchase the book. I do not get paid for book sales links to Amazon. The click through rate to Amazon varies; some authors get many, and send me numerous emails about the success. Others, for whatever reason, do not see the same rate of success.
I pay close attention to the read through rate, I will promote as long as the read through rate is significant. Sometimes, I take a break from a book and revisit it later and the success is much different. Understand, I am more than happy to share the read through rates with you, just ask.
I do purchase, at least 95% of the books I review. I do not review all I read. My reviews come in cycles, because, I read in cycles do to my other work and my son's illness. Usually, I read most at Medical Facilities and often read books to my son when he is unable to function normally.
I do not ask for anything in return. I'm learning, and do, someday hope, as I prepare to move to a large city, to do some promotion. Yes, this is selfish, I want to meet people. Soon, others will assume the care of my son, and I will need to have a different sort of life. Nevertheless, writing and books are my soul, and will always be connected to whatever I do…
Like everyone else that writes, good or bad, I'm a bit complex. Currently, not only am I at a crossroads in my life, but at an end, which means a beginning will follow. If I focus too much on the end, I won't be prepared for the new beginning. Reviewing books just happens to fit into this craziness.
