Cool Times at the JCC

We had a great event on Saturday with John Nichols. Terrific writer and fascinating guy, whose work truly captures the sights, sounds, and spirit of Northern New Mexico. Lorene Mills did a wonderful job interviewing him. We should have the video up on the Jean Cocteau website soon.

And tonight, at 7pm, we have JOHN SCALZI flying in. John's touring for his new novel, THE COLLAPSING EMPIRE, and we're thrilled to have him.

See you at the theatre!

Charan Singh Yeah, you are past writing the mere books now Mr Martin. You will do everything- tours, events, merchandise, promotions and what not. Winter will never come; the wait has moved on from being irritating to plain ridiculous to "will-never-happen" territory. Shame that a good story has been raped away by monetary exploits.

Faith Perry Do you really think GRRM is writing these posts? It's one of his minions. When you write your own mega successful epic driving an entire media industry, then you can complain. Until then, stand down clowns.

Jessa Martell As Neil Gaiman once said, "George R. R. Martin is not your bitch."

Why not?

To date GRRM has written 40 books and short stories, 30 TV episodes, edited 38 other works, runs a theatre, is chair on some charities, and attended hundreds of conferences, book tours, readings, interviews etc, supports many other writers, writes at a consistent speed that has actually increased slightly the past decade, and none of this is even new. He has been like this and is like this for all his work pre-dating the single Song of Ice and Fire series (which is only one of many projects he works on and has a fanbase for). What have you done that makes your ignorant whining on this topic so special?
