The Cross Says Let It Go

Forgiveness is free. But its not cheap. It cost Jesus Christ his life. And its also not easy. Forgiveness can only occur when the offended person volunteers to assume the debt and not to get even or seek revenge. Thats what Jesus did for us. Thats what he calls us to do for others.

Todd Coburn Agreed. Forgiveness is free to the recipient but is costly to the one granting it. It means they have to let go of fair play, or getting their due, of being appreciated. They have to let go of anyone caring, or even accepting their forgiveness. They have to let go of whether or not the person changes at all.

Jesus is amazing. He paid it all for us and so few of us appreciate it. Even those of us who love Him and who have surrendered to Him often do a poor job of understanding, appreciating, or reciprocating His love.

Yet He offers His love for free. Free to anyone who will surrender to His love, His authority, His Godhead, His blood and cleansing and sacrifice.

Thank you Jesus for loving me and calling me and forgiving me. Please call the Goodreads community to Yourself as well, bathe them in your love, and fill them with the enlightening of your Holy Spirit.

...for free.
