Watching The Greatness

Usually,onSaturdays,I like to bring up some of theScientific WebsitesI have been reading.Spreading the word,as they say,about some of the fascinating things going on in ourWorld.Since I have been on vacation,I haven't had time to scour the internet like I would like to.The reason for that is,I have been enjoying being with part of my familyand some of my grandchildren.A little secret.At last count,I have seven childrenand thirteen grandchildren plastered all over theWorld.Which makes it hard to have a full fledge family reunion.What I want to bring up today is"Greatness."What makes a person"Great."TheOxford Dictionarydefines the word greatness as;The quality of being great; eminence or distinction.Again,the dictionary leaves us guessing.Greatness is being great?Then,what is being great you ask?Instead of looking up another confusing definition fromOxford,I'm going to tell you what I think"Greatness"is.It is the state one feels,after living a full life,that heor she has made a difference,for the better,inSomeone's Life,Community,Nation,or theWorld.An example,which made a difference to theWorldwould beAlbert Sabin.When I was a kid,thePolio Viruswas still a major problem in theWorld.I personally knew two people who had it.It wasn't untilAlbert Sabindeveloped an oral vaccine,which made it cost effective to give to every child,that theWorldhas almost eradicated the virus completely.An example of someone being great by making a difference in people's lives,I shamefully choose me.I am so proud of the way my children haveor are growing up,that I define my legacy by them.The eldest child may not have figured out that family comes first,but I am hoping that there is still time for him.Otherwise,the six other children areWonderful,Caring,Human Beings.They no longer listen to my every word as gospel,and I wouldn't want them to.I want them to have their ownOpinions,Hopes,andDreams.They all became great human beings in their own right,solidifying my greatness,because of them.I made a difference in thisWorldbyHaving,Raising,andInstilling Greatnessin my children.Now it is my turn to sit backand watch theGreatnessin all of them.
