Many authors have difficulty describing the niche that their book fits into. Romance? Science fiction? Young adult? I had the same problem. Dark Muse has a lot of Jewish content, but it isn't inspirational. Not at all. It isn't historical either. At least I hope not. It does qualify as a paranormal, and that with flying colours. What with an anti-heroine who can turbo-charge your brain or send you under a bus ( she has bad days), it isn't your standard non-fiction.
But I also used normal people as a template for their emotions. These are characters who want to belong, in a certain way. Belong to their own peer group, or to society at large, they can't operate forever as beings apart.
And their conflicts are human as well. If a friend dies, they feel the loss. If they have a hand in that death, they feel it even more. They don't just walk away and go to a Starbucks. There are consequences
And I hope that is what makes the Dark Muse series different.
