Anonymous Intimacy

I was talking with my guy the other day as we drove about how I find the Internet to be extremely intimate … after a fashion. What I marvel at is how I witness and participate in very intimate conversations with complete strangers whom I know next to nothing about other than their avatar picture. Very often, the meat of these conversations involves topics that I would not be comfortable speaking about in person with someone whom I knew nothing more about than the clothes they wear.
