“I Won’t Give Up” Live at the Special Olympics Opening Ceremony with Grace VanderWaal

It’s not often I get nervous during a show anymore. But it’s not often I’m on a world stage of such special significance. What an honor it was to lend my songs to the cause.

In my nervous fumbling of retuning my guitar and moving the show along for TV, I forgot to verbally mention being joined by Live Art teachers who coordinated and choreographed the illuminating performance of I Won’t Give Up. The choir from Middle School One and International Global Messengers of the Special Olympics did a superb job singing and sharing their light. I made new friends who not only confirmed the work I strive to create, but inspire me to keep going.

Thank you Special Olympics, ESPN, SPARC, Grace VanderWaal, and fans of transformative music and sports. Thank you for the opportunity to shine.
