Not the usual dockside thief - Snippet for #WeWriWa from Comet Tales #SciFi

Welcome to another Sunday with Weekend Writing Warriors . Here, writers in different genres showcase their stories with 8-10 sentences. Join the fun and read our snippets.
I am continuing a scene from an older story, my space operetta, Captured by the Hawk. This story is included in my new release, Comet Tales. This novella is suitable for St. Patrick’s Day since the heroine, Katrina Sligo, is Irish, and her ship is called the Shamrock. (Slight spoiler since her ship does not appear until near the end.)
Tag line: Spaceships crash across the galaxy in the comic misadventures of spy Grey Kat and pirate Black Hawk. After stealing secret codes from the Emperor's Revenge, Grey Kat has been caught trespassing near Black Hawk’s ship. He is interrogating her about the stolen codes. I am continuing the scene from last week. You can read last week’s snippet here – http://auroraspringer.blogspot.com/2017/03/aint-got-nothing-snippet-from-comet.html
“Ain’t bin in no ship. Ye put me back on dock,” she pleaded, chin tipped impudently. “My ship has lifted from the spaceport. You cannot return to Hassam.” He stared at her for a minute, noting the unconscious challenge in her eyes and her defiant stance, “You intrigue me. You’re not afraid, and your replies are too prompt and recalcitrant for the usual dockside thief.”  Kat remained silent. She locked her gaze onto his green eyes, and pondered her best approach in dealing with this confident pirate. “Are you ready to talk?” he insisted in a harsh voice, evidently unused to opposition. “What’s your name, thief?”
