OCD or Organized, Not So Sure Anymore

0128_shelf02.jpgHow Do You Arrange Your Books

My husband calls me anal retentive. I might be, I am not sure. Then my daughter called me OCD. So, I had to stop and find out what the hell they were talking about.

Apparently it is in the way I arrange my DVDs. I throw away the case and place them in packs with zippers. That in itself is not so much anal but I like to group them in genre and make sure that the disc is upright and not askew. Head up so to speak. My music cds are the same.

That is funny! I love that! I knew it. All writers have to be OCD. Hehehehehe!

Orsolya Last Wednesday, I was at the library (I go EVERY Wednesday); and fell upon a book on OCD. My boyfriend always argues that I'm not OCD per se, that I am just "O" (meaning, that he says I am obsessive in nature and not compulsive). I found a passage though which described a certain type of OCD which the author called "Orgizational" OCD. It described me to a "T"! I used to be worse when I was a teen. I've gotten more sane ;)

Orsolya Is that photo truly your shelves, by the way? It looks like the shelves of an artist in a gallery (due to the color coordination).

:) No no. Not my library. I found those pictures on a free website. But I am a painter. Let me know if you wish to see some of my work, I do have a link. Writing and artistry go hand in hand, no?

Orsolya Sure, I would be interested in seeing it :)

Diane Well I must be bad also. I arrange my books by highth Some are arranged by the author and highth I also arrange books by what they are about. If mystery then all the mystery books are put together oh by author. Been volunteering at the library to long I think. Wll some are stacked on shelf or in a draw that is when I know I'm getting bad. Also it tells me it is time to clean house and donate them to the library.

These are very nice :) I like your work with the texture work/depth.

My boyfriend is an artist (he specializes in drawing but uses other media, as well and works as a Set Dresser in Film/TV) while I focus more on my photography and writing. I love my creative types :)

How wonderful! My husband does all my book covers. I may choose the general art but he is the one who does the final touches to it. Yes, love creative friends, artists, writers, photographers and readers.

Orsolya Although some say not to mingle love and work, I like working on projects with my boyfriend. I think it is great that your husband works on the book covers!

Exactly!

I forgot to mention, that I also line all my books up on a flush line. They aren't up against the back of the shelf but more foward and all the books, regardless of size, are flush. So by size and flush.
