Chicago Reads: CARAVAL

Yesterday on ChiYA, I blogged about Stephanie Garber’s February 11th Caraval event at Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville, IL.

I wanted to add another anecdote to this reblog: at the event, Stephanie revealed that Caraval started with just a character named Legend and a setting. From there, she found the voice of the protagonist, Scarlett, then decided the story would be about sisters. Only after this did the plot begin to come.
