Chromium A Vital Nutrient
For Our Health
I have a lot of people asking me what chromium GTF I use after they read my book, “ Diabetes And Your Diet.”
The mineral chromium helps transport glucose from the blood to the muscles. The pancreas cannot make insulin without this vital mineral, which is probably missing from most people’s diets today. It could be one of the most important missing links to having a healthy pancreas.
This would be a critical component for a person with type 1 or 2 diabetes, who wishes to be healthier.
According to the National Institutes of Health, “Chromium is known to enhance the action of insulin, a hormone critical to the metabolism and storage of carbohydrates, fat, and protein in the body.” (1)
People who eat non-organic foods have a greater likelihood of being deficient in this important trace mineral.
The chemical fertilizers used in industrial farming destroy chromium that would naturally be in the soil. All GMO foods are grown with these chemical fertilizers. The USDA says that about 90% of the food on the market today in the US, is grown this way, which is why I think this important mineral is missing from most people’s diet today. This is one of many reasons fresh, certified organic, non-GMO food is always the best choice at the grocery store.
Chromium supplements should have GTF (Glucose Tolerance Factor) on the label. It should say, “Chromium GTF”. Avoid synthetic supplements that don’t list whole, organic foods as the ingredients.
