Riddle Me This

Why would anyone design a house and put a nice big window, overlooking the street, behind the bathroom stool? Seriously.  I'm not making this one up. It's how our bathroom is laid out. Lucky for all the passersby, we keep the blinds closed so that no one is accidentally mooned.
Don't misunderstand me, I love our house, warts and all.  But the rational for putting a window there escapes me.
