
Today I was honored to participate at a book event with Shig Yabu. Shig was ten years old when his family was forced to live in the Heart Mountain Japanese Internment Camp in Wyoming for three years. Following the war he he was an active participant in the city of Camarillo and eventually founded their Boys and Girls Club of America chapter which I frequented as a child. It was there where I played basketball, learned martial arts, and spent time on weekends. I was humbled and impressed by his life story and left the day inspired to have met a true American
