On February 2nd, I visited St. Louis School in Clarksville, Maryland to read my picture book
Brigid and the Butter: A Legend about Saint Brigid of Ireland (
https://www.amazon.com/Brigid-Butter-...). Many thanks to the St. Louis staff, especially media specialist Marti Ellerbrock, for inviting me there and helping to set up. They put up a world map so I could show the students where Ireland is, and projected the illustrations on a screen so everyone could get a good look at Apryl Stott's excellent work.
Many thanks also to the wonderful St. Louis students. There were about one hundred of them, from kindergarten through third grade. They were a very attentive group while I read, and asked some interesting questions afterward. "What language did St. Brigid speak?" "Did she travel to other countries?" "How long did it take her to milk a cow?" "Did she like the cows?" (I said that I certainly hoped so, since she had to spend so much time with them.)
